As a result of being in storage for the last 20 years, Delta Golf's fuselage, tail fin and wings had accumulated a lot of ground in dirt and were also covered in sticky tape residue where sections of plastic sheeting had been stuck over missing access panels. To allow for sanding and repainting to take place, it was necessary to clean the aircraft and remove as much of the grime as possible. This page documents the cleaning work carried out by volunteers at the museum over the last couple of months. |
