Unlike conventional aircraft that have seperate ailerons and elevators, Concorde had 'elevons' which are a combination of the two control surfaces. Each wing on Concorde was fitted with 3 elevons - 1 inboard and two outboard of the engines. However, each of these is actually two panels bolted together so there actually 6 per wing in total. Of the elevons selected for use on Delta Golf, most are in very good condition, but a few require a significant amount of restoration work. |
Ex-Concorde
engineers from British Airways have been working to re-fit the mounting
hardware to the elevons

The
No 5 and 6 elevons are nearing completion and will be ready to re-fit
to the aircraft once it is re-assembled
